Hungarian Black Sunflower  ( Helianthus annuus)

   This sunflower produces a large black seed that is good for sprouting  and great for the birds. It grows to about 7 to 8 feet tall with large golden yellow flowers. The Hungarian Black Sunflower makes a great cut flower too. 

Direct sow after last frost, spacing seeds at least 18 - 24 inches apart and 1 inch deep in full sun. Collect seed head when flowers fade.
