Scarlet   (papaver somniferum)

 This deep scarlet red poppy grows 24 to 30 inches in height and produces predominately fringed, and occasionally single petal flowers up to 4 inches across. The color and texture of the flowers in contrast to its blue/green foliage make this poppy a real eye catcher. Plant in early spring as soon as the soil can be worked for a dazzling display of early summer flowers.
