Shirley Double Mixed Poppy
(Papaver rhoeas)Shirley Double Mix produces a beautiful mix of multi and single
petal flowers that are carried well above the plants on slender stems.
Colors include shades of white, pink, rose and red, as well as bicolors.
These poppies are one of the most astounding in their color range and
variety, coming in singles, doubles, frilly and delicate shapes. Use in
mass plantings or blend with other late-spring, early-summer flowers in
the flowerbed. Excellent for naturalizing and for that English country
garden look. Bees are attracted to these poppies and visit daily.
Direct sow into prepared seed beds that have been cleared of
weeds and have had the top 1 inch of soil loosened. Rake seed in.
Press into soil by walking over the area. Keep moist until germination.
