Zinnia - Cut and Come Again (zinnia pumila)

Cut and Come Again variety of Zinnia are an upright bushy plant with an array of bright bold multicolored blooms. They bloom from early summer on until fall and produces an abundance of flowers. They can grow 3- 4 ft tall with multiple flower producing branches. They have long been a firm favorite in gardens worldwide. Zinnia Cut and Come Again has long-stemmed flowers 2½" across in a blend of pink, bright scarlet, yellow, salmon, white and more. The more you cut, the more they bloom, and they keep blooming from midsummer until frost. The cut flowers last a long while in a vase without showing age. These spectacular flowers should be grown in every garden. They are very attractive to bees and other pollinators, especially hummingbirds.

They were named 1763 by Linnaeus in honor of Johann Zinn, a German professor of botany and medicine. The first double forms were introduced in France in 1856. Zinnias became popular in the US in the late 19th and early 20th century and many familiar forms were bred here.
